In-depth player stats: Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United

Tottenham v Man Utd, Sunday 16:00   – Tottenham could only take a point from a 0-0 draw against QPR as they faced former manager Harry Redknapp for the first time since firing him last summer. Spurs were frustrated by QPR’s tactics and some excellent goal-keeping but will need to up their ruthlessness in front of […]

In-depth player stats: Liverpool vs Norwich

Liverpool v Norwich, Saturday 15:00   – An encouraging effort was not enough to prevent Liverpool slipping to a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford last weekend. New signing Daniel Sturridge made an almost immediate impact after coming on as a substitute, and despite his goal seeming to galvanise Brendan Rogers’ side in the latter part […]

Why does Liverpool striker blame Manchester United for everything?

Luis Suarez was banned for 8 games last season after the FA found him guilty of racial abuse after he referred to Patrice Evra as “negro” during an argument. Suarez failed to convince the FA panel that he was using the term in a friendly way, given the pair of them were clearly at loggerheads at […]

Luis Suarez has admitted to diving, namely that embarrassing occasion against Stoke City, but claims the media make more of a fuss about him cheating because the media is controlled by Manchester United. “Sometimes you do things on the field that later you think ‘why the hell did I do that?’ People say I throw […]

10 Reactions to Manchester United’s win against West Ham

1. Having struggled in the FA Cup in recent years, Sir Alex Ferguson has made it clear that he now wants to get his hands back on that trophy, and as such, he kept his word and fielded a relatively strong side which looked like it could cause West Ham all sorts of trouble, even […]

Sunderland out of the cup after Bolton defeat

Ruby Tuesday. Had Sunderland won last night, that 40th anniversary cup  run would still have been on – if only until the visit of Everton that  won’t now be needed. An abysmal display against Bolton Wanderers,  watched by a paltry crowd of 17,500 including our own, occasionally  rejoicing but less occasionally suffering Pete Sixsmith, must […]

PICTURE: Liverpool fan gets ‘Munich 58’ tattoo after Manchester United defeat

Following Manchester United’s 2-1 win on Sunday, one Liverpool fan didn’t take the result too well, and resorted to getting ‘Munich 58’ tattooed on his backside. As if this was strange enough behaviour, he then took a photograph of it and posted the picture on Twitter. He has since deleted his Twitter account.

Where did it all go wrong with Liverpool loanee Sahin?

Nuri Sahin, who was the Bundesliga Player of the Year two seasons ago, joined Liverpool on a season-long loan in the summer. Arsenal had also been keen to sign him, after Arsene Wenger missed out on the Turk when he was still at Borussia Dortmund, but Liverpool offered to pay all of the 23-year-old’s £115,000 […]

STATS: Reading vs West Brom

Reading v West Brom, Saturday 15:00   – Reading’s troubled season continued with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Tottenham on new year’s day their last Premier League outing, with Pavel Pogrebnyak scoring their only goal. However, they were able to reverse that scoreline in the FA Cup, knocking out previous giant killers Crawley with […]

STATS: Aston Villa vs Southampton

Aston Villa v Southampton, Saturday 15:00   – Aston Villa stemmed a tide of poor results against Swansea last week in a 2-2 draw, but will have left south Wales disappointed not to have claimed all three points after conceding a late equalizer. Villa’s strikers look to be finding their feet again, with Benteke and Weimann […]
