4-2-3-1 Chelsea lineup against Man Utd: Loic Remy in starting XI, Fabregas only on the bench

Chelsea will travel to Old Trafford to face Louis Van Gaal’s side on Monday. The Blues will look to heap further misery on the Red Devils, who are going through a bad patch of form under Van Gaal.

The Blues dominated their last league game against Watford at Stamford Bridge but failed to turn the draw into a victory. Meanwhile, United suffered a defeat against Stoke City at Britannia Stadium.

The London doesn’t have any serious injury concerns at the moment, but will miss the services of Diego Costa, who scored a brace against the Hornets, due to suspension. Radamel Falcao is also expected to feature in the game as he is not fully fit. Eden Hazard made the substitute appearance against Watford, and he might start in this game.

That’s how we feel Chelsea will shape up against Man Utd:

Goalkeeper

Thibaut Courtois: The Belgian has reclaimed his position since his return from the injury and will be an automatic starter against United.

Defence

Gary Cahill and John Terry will start as a centre-back pairing in the defence. Branislav Ivanovic is expected to start in the left-back position and Cesar Azpilicueta in the right-back position.

Midfield

Nemanja Matic will start at the base of midfield for the Blues. Cesc Fabregas was ineffective in the first half of the 2-2 draw with the Hornets. He was rightly taken off for John Obi Mikel, who made a difference in the second half. Expect Mike to start the away game against United.

Brazilian star Oscar is the number one choice to start in the number 10 position.

Forward

Pedro was not spectacular against Watford and Eden Hazard might be handed his first start since his return from the injury, on the left-hand side of the attack.

Willian has been the standout performer for the Blues this season, and he will rightly take his place on the right side of the forward three.

In the absence of Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao, Loic Remy is the only recognized striker left, and he will lead the Chelsea attack.

Chelsea Starting Lineup: Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Mikel, Matic; Hazard, Oscar, Willian; Loic Remy
