90% Done – Arsenal Set To COMPLETE Signing Of Arturo Vidal, Bid ACCEPTED

Juventus midfielder, Arturo Vidal has agreed to move to Arsenal for £21million. The Independent as described the deal as “90% done”.

“DirecTV journalist Hernan Feler – who was one of the first to reveal Arsenal’s interest in Alexis Sanchez – appears to have claimed that the Gunners have reached an agreement to sign the Juventus star on a five-year deal” (Offside Football).

The tough-tacking Chile international star, presently representing his country at the Copa America has now agreed to join compatriot, Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates, despite interests from Man United and Chelsea.

Various news media in Chile, of which Chilean newspaper, Lampa is one of,  have also claimed Vidal would be heading to North London.. The same source revealed that the deal will be announced next week.

Having lost out on the signing of Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin to United, Arsenal quickly had to look on to Vidal, who has been rumoured to make a move away from Turin this summer.

Vidal, 28, – who was recently charged for drink-driving offences – is a highly-rated box to box midfielder. He joined Juventus in 2011 and has since been a valuable member of the team.

After the recent arrival of Sami Khedira from Real Madrid, Juventus need to sell one or two midfielders, and the Telegraph understands that the money that would be made from the sale of Vidal has been set aside for the purchase of Mehdi Benatia from Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile on Sport360, a Swedish publication, a former Arsenal legend, Freddie Ljungberg has welcomed the news and hailed the move. He sees Vidal as “a great player” who can link up with compatriot, Alexis Sanchez and help the north Londoners end their wait for a genuine push for the title”, as per the Telegraph. Vidal is a player who fumes whenever he loses the ball, and that’s what he (Ljunberg) likes and think will be good for Arsenal

Vidal is also a winner. He has won four Serie A and two Copa Italaian titles with Juventus. He was also the Bianconeri’s player of the year in 2012-13.

The experienced midfielder will be steel and aggressiveness to the Arsenal midfield and may displace Francis Coquelin.
