Arsenal agree to sign Nigerian wonderkid, should start training with the team this week

Nigerian wonderkid, Samuel Chukwueze, has reportedly agreed terms with Arsenal and is set to join in the coming days. Arsenal have been interested in securing the services of the extremely talented youngster for some time and had scouts watching his every match. He is an attacking midfielder with flair and an eye for goal.

Diamond Football Academy president, Martin Apugo, confirmed the news and announced to the public that Samuel was on his way to the Emirates. ‘Chukwueze is still joining Arsenal; he will travel any moment from now to start training with them. I didn’t want him to go to Arsenal, I wanted him to go somewhere else but he said he’ll be happy if he goes to Arsenal.’

A teammate of Chukwueze, Kelechi Nwakali, made the move last month but a small complication meant that Samuel had to wait a little longer. That complication is believed to have been an issue with the Nigerian’s visa’s and international clearance. This all appears to have been straightened out and the youngster seems excited to start playing football in North London.

It was during the World Cup U17 tournament last year that Wenger first became interested in the pair. Scouts had revealed all to Wenger and he wanted to bring the boys over before any of the other European giants beat them to it. Manchester City and Liverpool were also interested in bringing at least one of the boys over to England.
