Debuchy Leaving Arsenal

Arsenal Agreed Fee for Defender to Seal the Deal Before Deadline

Arsenal have agreed on a £1.5million deal with Aston Villa for the loan move of right-back Mathieu Debuchy, according to reports.

Daily Mirror claims that the Frenchman is in advanced negotiations with Villa head of a move until the end of the season.

Relegation-threatened Villa have agreed to pay player’s wages plus a reported loan fees for the services of the 30-year old. Debuchy has fallen behind Hector Bellerin in the pecking order at Arsenal and wants regular playing time ahead of the Euro Championships in summer.

However, in his press conference following the 2-1 FA Cup win over Burnley, Arsene Wenger said that there have been no recent developments for the defender. He said: “No [developments]. We will not have a long time to wait [the deadline is approaching].”

Debuchy has only made two league appearances for the Gunners this season. He has also been linked with a loan move to Sunderland.
