Arsenal Star Aiming for Man City Switch: Already Looking at Houses in the Area

Manchester City is changing a lot of things for next season, including Manuel Pellegrini. Pep Guardiola, former Barcelona and soon-to-be Bayern Munich ex-manager will replace the Chileanian at Etihad. Guardiola is also offering Arsenal superstar Mikel Arteta a chance to join him as part of his coaching staff.

Arteta has been a centerpiece of Arsenal football since he joined the team in 2011. However, a recurring calf problem limited Arteta to a mere 13 appearances this season. The 34-year-old Spaniard is not getting any younger and he knows it. With Guardiola’s help, he is setting himself up for a new challenge when his contract expires at the end of this season.

Arteta and Guardiola are known to be good friends from their days in La Masia, Barcelona’s youth academy. According to the Daily Mail, Guardiola has already met up with Arteta to discuss the details of a possible reunion in Man City. Arteta is said to be eager to make the leap to coaching and has worked closely with Arsenal youngsters.

The former Real Sociedad and Everton midfielder is said to be looking for properties in the North West already as the chance to work with Guardiola, one of football’s most respected managers, is too good to bypass.
Although Arteta has other coaching jobs on the table, none of them are as prominent and appealing to him as Guardiola’s offer to join The Citizens.
