Following the submission of the Gunner’s long-term transfer target, Karim Benzema, Arsenal were left with no choice than to turn their attention to Paris Saint-German forward Edison Cavani in recent weeks, as their major priority for the striking position , as per the Express. The report claims the French champions have received an offer for the striker but they refused to mention the club and are yet to decide on accepting or rejected the said offer.

Having Cavani at Arsenal will no doubt more competitive but the report is nothing to cheer about. Not forgetting we were heavily linked with a move for Karim Benzema (Via the Express) before the deal hit the rocks.

It will be disappointing for the transfer market to close without Arsenal signing any striker especially given their barren spell in their two Premier League home games against their excellent pre-season form.
