BREAKING – Klopp Hijacks Wenger’s Target, 27 Goals in 27 Matches Striker Moving to Liverpool for £42m

Liverpool are preparing to hijack Arsenal’s £42 million bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Sun recently reported that the Gunners have opened negotiations with the German club over a £42 million move for the Gabon international.

The Sun quoted a source: “An intermediary has made contact with Dortmund about Pierre-Emerick making a move to Arsenal. Wenger knows the fee is very high — yet this is a striker who can make a massive difference for him and help win the title for the first time in 12 years.”

Now, the Spanish source Don Balon are reporting that Liverpool have joined the North London club in pursuit of the striker and are prepared to hijack the £42 million bid. The report claims that Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to use his influence at his former club to sign the player.

Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has also fuelled speculation by claiming that Dortmund is not dependent on Aubameyang. “We can never believe that a club like Borussia Dortmund is dependent on a player,” he told German newspaper Bild. “We are not dependent on anyone.

“When Robert Lewandowski left, we found [solutions], and he even has three more goals than Lewa. We are now so well positioned that we can offer alternative solutions again and again. [We want] our team to stay together. We do not have as much money as the top stars in the Premier League, but we have a lot of other things to offer. For example, our players were able to celebrate Christmas.”

When asked about transfer rumours linking the player to Premier League clubs, he said: “Last year around this time, many journalists wrote that our top players would be gone. Hummels was at Manchester United. Gundogan was with [Real] Madrid, Manchester or Barcelona. And where are they now? Still with us!”
The 27-year old was signed by Klopp from French club St Etienne during his spell with the club, in 2013. He signed a contract extension with his club in the summer, and his recent form has massively elevated his stock in world football.

He has scored 27 goals in 27 appearances in all competitions for his club this season.
