Chelsea midfielder Christian Atsu hints at summer transfer

The Blues have over 30 players currently on loan in all corners of the world, including Christian Atsu. The young Ghanaian international is currently playing for Malaga on loan. Although he’s a rotation player and rarely starts, he feels at home in Malaga.

In a recent interview with Marca Atsu stated that “Malaga is a great place. Here, I have everything to grow as a footballer and triumph… The club is good, the fans help and cheer, the teammates are great”.

Atsu was signed by Chelsea in 2013 from Porto for £3.5 million, but has yet to play a game for the Londoners. He has scored 1 goal in 10 matches for Malaga, making most of his appearances from the bench. Local press reports indicate Malaga is keen to make another deal with Chelsea for the 24-year-old winger, a more permanent one this time around.

“The decision (to stay) isn’t up to me. I haven’t received an offer from Malaga for the time being. I have a contract with Chelsea, but I believe everything is possible in football.” said Atsu, who has also played for Bournemouth and Everton among other clubs.
With Antonio Conte taking over Chelsea’s manager role, Atsu is very unlikely to play in Stamford Bridge at all, at least not for The Blues. Another loan, or an extension of the current loan to Malaga, are also possibilities, so we can only wait and see where he will be playing next season.
