Chelsea Set To Sign £34m Rated Man United Target, Will Earn £80,000-A-Week

With just a month left in the transfer window, Premier League club Everton face a possible defender crisis after the club released central defenders; Antolin Alcaraz and Sylvain Distin at the end of last season.

With John Stones constantly in the news and a move away from the Merseyside club looming. The club board are on the search for central defenders. Reports earlier in the week had it that the Toffees were in advanced negotiations with Dynamo Kiev central defender Aleksandar Dragovic. Another name making the news regarding a possible move to the blue half of Merseyside is Swansea captain, Ashley Williams. Williams has been constantly linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium in the past and with a potential reunion with former manager, Roberto Martinez a possibility, media outlets in the UK report that the central defender is open to the possibility of leaving Wales.

Chelsea are reportedly preparing a third and final £34 million bid for John Stones. Everton would be foolish to turn down this deal as it would be a huge profit on a player that was signed for just £3 million two years ago. With the clubs financial problems well documented, they would do well to capitalise on Stones while his stock is still high and reinvest the money in the squad.

Everton struggled last term as they finished a poor 11th in the league. They are in desperate need of reinforcements as they hope to mount a push for a continental place. They have only managed to sign Gerard Deulfeu for £4.2 million from Barcelona and Tom Cleverley on a free transfer after the expiration of his Manchester United contract.
