Confirmed: Alexandre Pato Becomes Chelsea’s Only January Signing

Chelsea have agreed on a loan-deal for Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato according to various reports. ESPN Brasil reports that the Brazilian striker will arrive in London today to finalize his deal.

The former AC Milan striker has been at the centre of the longest transfer saga of this transfer window, but finally, all the parties have agreed on a loan deal for the player.

Earlier today, Brazilian media outlet Globo cited Pato’s agent Gilmar Veloz as their source and confirmed that the 26-year old has agreed to move to Chelsea.

According to the report, the West London club will pay all of Pato’s £30,000 a week wages which will amount to around £1.3 million for the duration of his loan spell.

Pato’s current contract with Corinthians runs until the end of 2016. He will prove to be an alternative option to Diego Costa for manager Guus Hiddink for the second half of the season.

F1 race Felipe Massa had now all but confirmed the deal by posting this message for Pato on his Instagram page.
