CONFIRMED – Mourinho is the New Manager of Manchester United, Signed 5-Year Contract, Will Manage Team Against Stoke

Reports from numerous sources in the UK have revealed that Jose Mourinho has become a firm candidate for the position of Manchester United manager after being contacted by the club’s officials. The Portuguese coach is currently without a job after being sacked by Chelsea just a few days ago.

Spanish media Fichajes claims Mourinho already reached an agreement with Red Devils.
The Blues were enduring a massively underwhelming start to their season under the guidance of their superstar manager and the club’s top bosses decided to relieve the Special One of his duties after a return of 15 points from 16 games left them just one point above the drop zone.

Present Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal is yet another manager who finds himself under pressure. The Dutchman is being greatly criticized by the Red Devils fans after his brand of insipid football saw them fall off the pace in the Premier League. To make matters even worse, United have dropped out of the UEFA Champions League after they lost an all important tie away to Wolfsburg.

The last time they won a match was exactly one month ago to the day when they beat Watford at Vicarage Road. Since then, the 20 time League winners have played six times, losing thrice and drawing thrice.

United are in desperate need of an upturn and reports of them eyeing the market for a new manager are rife. Pep Guardiola was the only name in the race until a few days ago, but Mourinho’s availability, and also, his admission that he will not take a break, has made the two time Champions League winner yet another participant in the race.

Since Guardiola, who will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, cannot be brought in right now, Mourinho has become probably the only person who can replace LvG right now.

A statement from the agency that represent Jose Mourinho quashed any doubts about his availability at the moment. The statement, released soon after he was sacked, read, “He will not be taking a sabbatical, he isn’t tired, he doesn’t need it. He is very positive and is already looking forward.”
United seem to have decided on replacing Van Gaal with Mourinho after ESPN confirmed that the Red Devils had indeed contacted the Portuguese manager and discussed the possibility of him replacing LvG.

The LvG saga and the speculation surrounding the United job is the hottest topic in the world of football right now, but there has not yet been any firm indication of this situation coming to an end very soon. United may be doing badly but there has been no firm indication suggesting that they are actually considering sacking Van Gaal. All that may change however and a breakthrough in this matter is expected in the coming days.
