Deal done: Man Utd beat Arsenal as striker personally confirms the move

Manchester United are set to beat bitter rivals Arsenal to the signature of Feyenwood youngster, Tahith Chong. The Dutch striker was reportedly staying with the Dutch outfits despite interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

He stated in an interview, “There is absolutely no question that I’m leaving the club. Feyenwood have come up with a plan of how they see me in the coming years.  I am hopeful that it will be alright and that I’m going to sign a contract with Feyenwood.”

However, a turn of heart has left the 16-year old striker saying the complete opposite.  “It was my intention to stay at Feyenwood, but no plan was made for me. When I said I wanted to leave, they made a plan. That was too late.” The striker has his heart set on Manchester after being highly impressed at Old Trafford.

He is confident that a move to a United is ideal for him. He will be able to link up with fellow Dutch men Daley Blind and Memphis Depay. It remain to be seen if current Dutch boss Louis Van Gaal will still be at the club.

The Dutch managers approach for trusting young players would have worked to his advantage.  In contrast to possible new boss Jose Mourinho. The 52-year old is known to favour proven players often brushing youngsters aside.
Chong has impressed Manchester United scouts and has been invited to training in order to examine him more carefully. Although he has played as a striker for the Netherlands; Chong is well capable of playing in midfield as – an additional benefit to pursuing him. Chong has played for the Dutch U-16 side.

Chong is surely one for the future. Whether Chong can break into the United side remains to be seen. Especially with uncertainty over managers.
