Diego Simeone Will Stay in Spain, Max Allegri is Closer to Sealing Chelsea Job

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is one among many managers who have been linked to the Chelsea job.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is currently on a lookout for the candidate to replace interim manager Guus Hiddink on a permanent basis in the summer.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri and Diego Simeone have been claimed to be leading the race for the post at Stamford Bridge.

However, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has claimed that the Atletico manager won’t be moving to Premier League just yet.

Balague claims that the Argentine manager intends to stay with the club for at least one more season.

When asked in a Sky Sports’ Q&A session, if Simeone could join Chelsea in the summer, Balague replied: “His priority is to stay with Atletico and be the coach that takes them to the new stadium which should be open in the summer of 2017. So I expect him to stay for next season.”

Simeone won the La Liga title with Atletico and led them to the Champions League final in the 2013-14 season.
This only fuels the speculation that Max Allegri will take over Chelsea in the summer, as we reported today. Even Juventus general manager had to speak on the transfer and publicly warns the coach to not leave Old Lady.
