DONE – Arsenal Completes Transfer Of £75,000-A-Week Star, Will Wear Number 25

Polish Goalkeeper Wojciech Tomasz Szczęsny has joined Roma on season long loan with an option to buy after his loan deal is completed. A dip in form last season saw the 25 year old suffer a vey horrible season which saw him relegated to the bench by David Ospina. Szczesny would be hoping to put the 2014/205 season behind him, from his smoking incidents that got him fined by the club to his string of lack-lustre performances the Polish goalkeeper was way below standard last season.

Szczesny woeful season earned him a place in Arsenal’s record books as no Arsenal goalkeeper has ever conceded more goals per game in the Premier league than Wojciech Szczesny. With the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea, the Polish goalkeeper will be third in pecking order as Arsene Wenger rates David Ospina more than the Polish goalkeeper.

Szczesny who was once a recipient of the Golden glove award will be hoping to use this loan move to get back to his best form. Speaking after his move to Roma He said “I had a difficult time last year – I’m the first person to admit that,” “I didn’t have the best of seasons, that’s why things have turned out the way they have, but I’m grateful because it gives me the opportunity to join Roma this season.“If I work hard – and with the help of the coaches – I’ll be able to help the team improve from last season and hopefully challenge for the title.”

With Roma contesting in the Champions league and challenging for the Serie A title, Szczesny will handed a lot of opportunities to prove himself and get back to his best form. It is however left to the Polish keeper to show the world he can still be a great goalkeeper.
