High Rated Striker Agrees To Sign For Arsenal, Three Years Deal Done

Arsenal on Tuesday, announced the signing of under-21 starlet Alex Iwobi in a long term contract for an undisclosed amount.

The new deal is a reward and investment for his excellent pre-season and start to the 2015-16 season – he was part of Wenger’s squad that travelled to Singapore and he registered a goal for the senior team in the Emirates Cup match against Lyon.

According to the report of the official Website of Arsenal, Iwobi ended last season’s campaign with nine goals in nine games for the junior team of Arsenal and he has continued to impress this season, scoring two goals in five games, which shows progress.

Delightfully speaking to the media, the player said:

“I like to think I have earned it. I have gone through a lot with Arsenal so to have a new and improved contract is very good and I’m happy to have earned it.

“I have had ups and downs. As I was growing up I had a lot of downs but as I get older things just keep getting better and better.

“The ultimate goal is to break into the first team and play as many games as I can.”

Iwobi represented England in the under 16, 17 and 18 levels but is currently way at international duty for his country of descent Nigeria. Like he said, we hope he will break into the first team of Arsenal even with the likes of Chamberlain and Campbell yet to cement their places in the first team.

Goodluck to the chap.
