Double Deal Done: Arsenal Just Signed Two New Players, Player Confirms the Signing on his Twitter

There is good news just before Arsenal’s FA Cup Fourth round kick-off against Burnley. It is the addition of two Nigerian youngsters to the squad, Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze.

According to Metro, the duo was seen with Arsene Wenger last night, and all for a good reason.  Nwakali and Chukwueze have been under Arsenal’s radar ever since the beginning of the January transfer window, and it seems a deal is finally in place for the two players to officially become Gunners.

The youngsters played an important role in Nigeria’s U-17 glory in Chile, and have had Wenger’s interest for a long time. The deal was on hold due to visa process, but it is being reported that the two players will officially be unveiled by Arsenal in the next 48 hours.  Player already confirmed the signing on his Twitter account:

Arsenal had signed Mohamed Elneny from FC Basel earlier this month, but the Gunners have since then been quite in the market with no further activity. Various strikers were linked but it seems none will be signed during this window. These two Nigerians may be the last of Arsenal’s January investments.

Arsene Wenger’s side has lost its lead in the league, but despite a slip from first place to third, the Frenchman has stated that there will be no further signings.

According to TalkSport, when asked about further signings, Wenger said, ‘No, not at the moment.

‘We have 23 players in training – and plus two is 25 – so unless people go out we are not on the verge of bringing anybody in.’
