Cavani to Arsenal

Edinson Cavani Spotted in London with Chelsea Representatives, Diego Simeone Confirms He’s not Moving to Chelsea

Chelsea have received a major set-back to their hopes of getting Diego Simeone after the Atletico Madrid manager signed an extension deal to his existing contract. That said, in a more positive news, Chelsea are being linked with a move to sign Edinson Cavani.

According to Metro, Blues have reportedly held talks with Edinson Cavani over a potential move to Stamford Bridge from Paris Saint-Germain in London.

The striker has reportedly expressed his frustration about playing on the wings rather than represent PSG in a central striker role which has been given to Zlatan Ibrahimovic by manager, Laurent Blanc.

Cavani’s father stated earlier this month that he wants his son to leave PSG this summer. The 29-year-old has also been linked with Manchester United.

However, according to Sport365, Chelsea are a step ahead as they have held talks with Cavani’s agent about the possibility of moving to London in the summer to play in the Premier League.

The Uruguay international has made 27 appearances for PSG this season in which he has scored 16 goals and has 3 assists, in all competitions.
The Blues can provide the striker with a much central role he prefers but moving to United might turn his fate similar to that of Radamel Falcao.
