Cavani to Arsenal

Fantastic News – Edinson Cavani’s Agent to Complete Deal with Man Utd, Player Keen to Leave PSG Immediately

Manchester United are reportedly planning to submit an official bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Edison Cavani during the ongoing January transfer window, after numerous rumors that they have been eying a move for the 28-year-old striker.

According to the Metro, Cavani’s agents have already contacted Manchester United over a potential move that will bring the forward to old Trafford.

It is also reported that United boss Louis van Gaal is dedicated to bring in some speed and creativity to his squad in the attacking unit and has recognized the PSG forward as the perfect addition to bring in extra ammunition in the second-half of the season.

The 28-year-old forward is reportedly frustrated by lack of consistent first-team football, and has sked his agents to engineer a move from the French Ligue 1 club. Cavani is unhappy at being deployed on the wings rather than in his preferred central striker position.

The Uruguayan forward who has 78 international caps for his country, has found the back of the net 13 times in 27 appearance in all competitions (where 17 were league appearances) for Laurent Blanc’s Ligue 1 champions this term.

The former Napoli forward is very determined on a move away from PSG and the Red Devils are ready to test the Ligue 1 club’s resolve with a bid in January. United have long been linked with a move for the Uruguay international, as former manager David Moyes had also considered signing the striker in 2013.

The striker, who has currently fallen behind Zlatan Ibrahimović in the pecking order as far as central striking is concerned, has been used on the left wing (which he least prefers) on 13 occasions this season.

Despite Cavani’s complaints, manager Laurent Blanc has insisted that he is not pleased with the striker’s behavior and has given him permission to consider offers from interested clubs.

“There is a problem with Cavani’s behavior but my job is to think of the entire squad as a collective,” the French manager said.

“We did hold a staff meeting and among the various issues we discussed were Cavani and his complaints. The desires of the individual can’t affect the rest of the team. I believe that he can score here but I understand if he wants to consider other career opportunities,” Blanc added.

According to sources, United are preparing a £32 million for the striker and the Parc des Princes outfit is likely to open talks over Cavani’s move because the offer meets the players release clause.
