Mauro Icardi To Sign For Liverpool

First January Signing? 23 Goals 7 Assists Chelsea Target Set For Liverpool Move

Liverpool are planning major changes to the squad by Winter when the transfer window reopens by January, and the Reds are desperate to make a return to the Champions League by next season. With the side suffering injuries to major key players, quality additions are needed if they are to finish top 4, and the frontline is on top of the coach’s priority list for the transfer market. Confirmed reports from Italy say the German coach is interested in the services of Inter Milan lethal striker, Mauro Icardi, admitting that the young forward is perfect for Liverpool.

The 22 year-old Argentine registered 27 strikes across all competitions last season, leading the Serie A charts alongside Lucas Toni. He was linked with a move away from the Guiseppe Meazza during the Summer transfer window, but he eventually remained.

Icardi already played 100 matches in Seria A, which he he applauded on his Instagram:

But reports say he has fallen out of favor with the coach, Roberto Mancini, and that a move finally away from the San Siro will likely work out by January. He hasn’t been able to reproduce last season’s form, and the coach is no longer patient with him.

Icardi has always have his eyes on the EPL, and has also complained of his lack of Champions League football after the club failed to qualify last term despite his goals and efforts. Chelsea and Manchester City are also reportedly in pursuit of his signature, and a move could actually happen. The Reds have injury-prone Benteke and Sturridge as their quality forward options, and will want to bring in Icardi to bolster their options.
