GIF: Two footed stamp on Chelsea player that should have seen Manchester City’s Aguero sent off

Manchester City were lucky to finish today’s FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea with eleven men after Sergio Aguero was guilty of an awful two footed stamp on David Luiz. With ten minutes remaining, a freekick was awarded to Chelsea for a cynical foul by Aguero which was then followed by the stamp.

It is possible that Aguero will now face a retrospective three match ban if Chris Foy doesn’t report the incident in his match report. With Aguero not even receiving a yellow card it is unlikely that Foy saw the stamp which means it can be dealt with by an FA panel.

“I didn’t see – many people said to me it was a bad tackle but I cannot say,” Luiz said after the game. “Aguero is a great player and this tackle isn’t…his style of play. I’m not going to give him more problems – if he did bad, he needs to be honest with himself and say sorry.”
