Great News: Arsenal signs Leicester City Scout Responsible for Finding Riyad Mahrez or Jamie Vardy

Leicester City’s best scout Ben Wrigglesworth has confirmed on his social media account that he has completed a move to Arsenal this month.

The highly rated scout was linked with a move to the north London club this season and it seems Arsenal have sealed a deal to acquire on of the masterminds behind Leicester’s surprise Premier League title challenge.

Wrigglesworth, who worked at the King Power Stadium for three-and-a-half years, will take on the role as first team video scout with the Gunners.

Wrigglesworth said on Twitter: “After three-and-a-half unbelievable seasons, working with amazing people, I am now starting a new chapter.
“It was a very difficult decision, leaving Leicester, but I had to take an opportunity that doesn’t come around often.

“I only wish the best for Leicester in the future, and will be eternally grateful to them for getting me to where I am.”

Wrigglesworth also confirmed he has joined Arsenal on his LinkedIn page. Wrigglesworth, who worked under head or recruitment and assistant boss Steve Walsh, managed to unearth gems like Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante for the Foxes and losing him to Arsenal is indeed a bitter blow for the Premier League leader.

The moves comes a year after the previous head of technical scouting at the King Power Stadium, Rob Mackenzie, joined Tottenham as head of player identification.

Besides, according to reports, the move is not only another bad news for the Foxes. Arsenal are still keen to sign Leicester Steve Walsh later this month.

Wriggleworth was formerly a first team performance analyst intern at Notts County, before moving to the Kings Power Stadium in 2012 to take on the role of a technical scout intern, and then promoted to technical scout.

There is no doubt that Leicester signings of Jamie Vardy for £1m from Fleetwood Town, N’Golo Kante for £5.6m from Caen and Riyad Mahrez for £400,000 from Le Havre has helped them top Premier League table by five point with just 13 games remaining.
Leicester travel to the Emirates this weekend for a Premier League clash that has been described as a season-defining clash.
