Great News – Latest Injury Update on Sanchez, Flamini, Rosicky, Arteta, Wilshere and Welbeck

Arsenal will play against Newcastle United as their first fixture of 2016. Arsene Wenger has provided updates of injured players through the club’s official website.

The Frenchman has revealed a possibility of Flamini’s return on Saturday. The Gunners haven’t lost a single game Arsenal has played at home with Flamini this season, hence his return to the line-up would be a great boost for them.

Alexis Sanchez who was hoping to be available against Manchester City this month, failed to make an early return and is still on the side-lines. Wenger has ruled him out of the upcoming fixture but said he might be available against Sunderland.

Arteta, who got injured in the match against West Brom in November, has returned to training but hasn’t been qualified as match fit by Arsene Wenger.

Tomas Rosicky, who hasn’t played a single game this season continues to be out, and will not return to training for another three weeks.

Both Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck have been anticipated to make a return in February. With the upcoming Euro, in the summer of 2016, the England Internationals would need to play regularly for Arsenal in order to have a chance to be included in England’s squad.

‘I maintain what I said that he could make it back for February,’ Wenger commented on Wilshere’s return on club’s official website. ‘He will be available again. Considering you play the Euros on June 10, that is a long way.’

Arsene Wenger has revealed that there were no further injuries post their fixture against Bournemouth. The entire team will available but he will be considering rotation against Newcastle.

Arsenal will aim to continue their winning streak as they begin the new year hosting Newcastle United at the Emirates. Arsenal has won 46 of their 85 meetings with Newcastle at home, they have lost 22 and drawn 17 of those fixtures.
