Guillem Balague reveals Chelsea transfer plans: Costa replacement identified

Chelsea has suffered greatly this season as they are finishing mid table and missing out on Champions League football next season. The Blues announced Antonio Conte as the new manager for next season, who will be looking to overhaul his entire team.

Many players are said to be heading out, including Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa. More importantly, the new Italian boss is rumored to bring in players that will yield results.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague  claims he knows exactly who The Blues are after this season. The Spaniard claims Gonzalo Higuain is Chelsea’s top target to replace Diego Costa as their starting center striker. Chelsea has lacked serious firepower this season, and the Argentine is keen on joining the squad at Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old Argentine international has been on amazing form this season. He is leading the scoring chart in Serie A with an amazing 36 goals on 35 appearances. Higuain put in another incredible effort yesterday as he scored 3 goals against Frosinone as Napoli cruised by them 4-0.

It’s rumored that Napoli will let Higuain go for somewhere around £38 million. Chelsea would be more than happy to pay up, and will then be looking to shop Diego Costa. The Spanish striker is said to be a top target for his former clubs Atletico Madrid, although they are not sure they can afford his services yet.
