“I Chose Arsenal Over Chelsea” UCL Winner Revealed “Difficult” Decision

Arsenal’s sole signing of the summer Petr Cech has revealed that he joined the Gunners because Arsene Wenger persuaded him, as per talkSport.

Cech, 33, left Chelsea after 11 years of an enviable spell at the Club that ended unceremoniously. The Czech international has revealed to the media why he chose Arsenal over other suitors.

Cech said of Wenger:

“He introduced me to the vision the club has for the coming years, to the reason why certain things are the way they are now and how they will be next year and the year after. I really liked the project in the way it matches my ambition and motivations. It’s a difficult decision to go from Chelsea to Arsenal, but I believed it was the right decision because I wanted to be part of the Premier League at a club that matches my ambitions. With Arsenal, that all came together.”

The advent of Thibaut Courtois at Chelsea saw Cech fell down the selection order of Mourinho, and he thought it was best to wear the gloves for another Premier League club.

Despite a calamitous start for Arsenal in the opening match of the season against the Hammers, Cech has steadily grown to be impressive. In the match against Manchester United, Cech’s bravery saved the Gunners goals from Martial and he earned a clean sheet.

However, to the dismay of Arsenal supporters, Cech was left out of Arsenal’s Champions League matches and both matches were woefully lost. Wenger must be wary fielding David Ospina against Bayern Munich, whose error was the undoing of Arsenal against Olympiacos.

Cech is currently away for international duties with country but he will be back in goal for Arsenal in the next Premier League match against Watford.
