Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp to receive stunning transfer budget of £158m, 3 top targets revealed

It seems Liverpool will join their other rivals in transfer reinforcements. Jurgen Klopp will be handed a staggering budget worth £158 million in the summer as reported by SportBild. The Reds like many league teams have been boosted by the new TV deal.

This boost in cash will allow the Reds to dig deeper into the market. Klopp joined mid-season and had to work with what Brendan Rodgers had left him.

The Reds board have full faith in Jurgen Klopp and will allow him to spend accordingly ahead of his first full season in charge. Liverpool are looking to be one of the title contenders come next season. They have already added Josep Matip to their squad.

The German manager has identified three other targets which include Basel’s Breel Embolo, Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze and Stuttgart’s Antonio Rudiger. These are all obtainable targets and will surely give Liverpool a stronger squad.

One man that won’t be apart of the targets is Borussia Monchengladbach’s Granit Xhaka. Klopp feels he has enough holding midfielders. Question is: are they good enough to compete at the highest level? The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder is said to have held constructive talks with Liverpool back in November and the club had set aside £23.7m for a bid.

Yet recently, Klopp has had a change in heart, even if it means Xhaka will move to a rival club, in Arsenal. Klopp decided not to pursue a deal and will focus on strengthening other areas of his squad. Sure holding midfield is not a priority, yet when a target becomes available it’s wise to pursue him when you have £158 million.
Klopp established Dortmund exceptionally well. He has certainly brought confidence and a side that can produce good football. Surely this transfer window will prove whether the German can do it again. Will Liverpool get back to winning days and challenge for the title next season?
