Liverpool are Set to Beat Arsenal in the Transfer Race for Javier Hernandez as Striker Becomes Club’s No. 1 Target

With only three days remaining until the January transfer window closes, Liverpool still haven’t found the solution to their attacking problems. Media has now linked Javier Hernandez for a potential move to the Anfield.

According to The Times, Hernandez has always been on Liverpool’s radar, even when he was playing for Manchester United. However, due to the intense rivalry between the two clubs, no deal was ever considered plausible.

Now that Javier Hernandez has moved to Bundesliga club, Liverpool now has the chance to make a move for the Mexico international. After a lack of game time at Manchester United, and spending a loan spell at Real Madrid, Hernandez made way to Germany for better playing chances.

Moving to Bayer Leverkusen for £8.3 million, Hernandez has proved himself extremely influential scoring 19 goals in his 26 appearances so far. He has become an integral part of the team because of which Bayer are reluctant to let the player leave. Not until the end of the season, at least.

It may be because of this, Arsenal, who were previously being linked with the striker, didn’t approach the matter. However, Liverpool may be able to make a deal possible if they are willing to spend £20 million on the 27-year-old.
