Liverpool in advanced talks to seal transfer for £7m Portuguese genius

Tiago Ilori may find himself at Estadio Riazor on a permanent move next season if the advanced talks currently being held between Liverpool and Deportivo La Coruna substantiate. The La Liga outfit has expressed interest in the Portuguese ace who will cost them £7m.

Tiagi Ilori joined Liverpool FC from Sporting Lisbon in 2013. The 23 year old has been an important addition to the defense of the Reds, but he has struggled to shine for the team.

His football career begun in 2006 with Imortal. He then played for several clubs, including Granada, Aston Villa, Bordeaux, but he is yet to find his best in football.

The Portuguese who also has England roots made only 3 appearances for Liverpool’s first team in the FA cup, as his main playing role was at the U21 side, where is also made few appearances (a total of 10)  for a player of his quality and age.

In fact, Jurgen Klopp recently admitted that he did not know Tiago as a Liverpool player when he took over at Anfield. A move to Deportivo La Coruna will open a new chapter in his career, since he is not part of Klopp’s long term plans.

Hopefully Deportivo La Coruna can avoid relegation this season so that the defender can secure a place in the team ahead of the 2016-2017. Currently, they are just 4 points away from relegation at the 15th position.
Having conceded 59 goals this season, Deportivo definitely need a defensive reinforcement, and Tiago Ilori is at their disposal
