After an unimpressive season, Manchester United is now out of UEFA Champions League chances and accordingly has a set of plans for the summer transfer season. They need to decide quickly because another year without Champions League will not only upset the fans but bring about great economic loss. So it is a must that they get the decisions done quickly.

With Carrick nearing his career ending period and Morgan Schneiderlin not performing well enough, the defensive midfield area of the Red devils has been a questionable sector. They have been linked with many people but they have been able to get none. They need to get someone who will be commanding in midfield.

Manchester United is hoping to get Lassana Diarra (via Foot Mercato). The Frenchmen had a great season and provided a lot of depth to his current team in Ligue 1, Marseille. And United are currently hoping to get their hands on this 31 year old veteran midfielder.
