Memphis Depay

Man Utd No. 7 leaving in summer, will he join Liverpool and burn bridges?

Memphis Depay’s Manchester United nightmare might soon be over, according to sources close to the star who say that Depay will be sold to either Liverpool or West Ham United at the end of the season. West Ham and Liverpool have both made moves for the player as they believe they can bring out the potential he showed at the World Cup jest a few years ago.

The bookmakers say West Ham are in pole position to sign the player who arrived at Old Trafford for a huge £25million but never really looked like repaying the transfer fee.

He struggled to establish himself in the starting lineup and played 26 times, scoring twice. It was a lackluster debut season and many think that it might be best for both clubs if the player moves on.

He was originally earmarked to move abroad, with France, Italy and Holland all potential destinations for the 22 year old who could rediscover the form that made United go for him in the first place. It looks now like the player is not happy with a move abroad and will instead opt for a move to Manchester United’s rivals.

The fans will not be happy if he succeeds and becomes the star he was tipped to be, especially after assistant coach, Ryan Giggs, publicly criticized the players lack of effort during training.
Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Memphis Depay hasn’t pulled up any trees at Old Trafford this season and he may be deemed surplus to requirements for the Red Devils’ 2016/17 campaign. He’s still young, talented and has bags of potential, though, and other sides in the Premier League could be fighting over his signature this summer. “
