Man Utd Player Ratings vs. Stoke City – Fantastic Martial and Rooney, Fellaini Should be Dropped to Bench

Man Utd dispatched Stoke 3-0 at Old Trafford tonight, in one of the most impressive performances of the season.

It was the second consecutive game in which United scored three. Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney were on target for the Red Devils on the night.

Martial put in an MOTM performance as he troubled Potters defence throughout the game.

Here’s how United players rated:

David De Gea: 6

The Spaniard was untroubled for most of the time. It was a quiet day in the office for him.

Matteo Darmian: 7

He returned to the squad after picking up an injury in the Southampton defeat. He put in a commendable performance and showed the early-season form.

Chris Smalling: 7

He dealt with the threat of Peter Crouch quite satisfactorily during the game.

Daley Blind: 7

He kept his concentration and composure and, in the end, it was a smooth performance from him.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson: 7

He is proving to be an able backup amidst full-back injury crisis at the club. It was another assuring performance from him.

Juan Mata: 8

He was back in his favoured number ten position. He pulled the strings from the midfield and set up the tempo of the game.

Marouane Fellaini: 6

He did what was expected of him. This performance certainly won’t add to his criticism.

Michael Carrick: 7

United look more assured with him back in the midfield. He brings calmness to United’s game.

Jesse Lingard: 7

He scored the opener for the Red Devils. However, that was the only telling contribution from the 23-year old.

Anthony Martial: 9

The Frenchman put in an MOTM performance. He troubled the Potters defence with his pace for the entire game. He also scored a cracker.

Wayne Rooney: 8

He is playing much better as compared to earlier stages of the season. He scored another goal and his return to form is great news for United fans.
