Manchester United first team star reportedly moving to Italy in a £15m deal

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has somewhat emerged as a possible transfer target for Italian Heavyweights AS Roma after he was spotted at the Stadio Olimpico watching them take on Napoli. The Belgium international was supposedly on a holiday in Rome.

The capital club, Roma are said to be looking to bring in reinforcements in the midfield despite having the services of Daniele De Rossi and former Barcelona man Seydou Keita in that position, along with Kevin Strootman, Radja Nainggolan and Miralem Pjanic.

However, De Rossi has played a bit-part role under Luciano Spalletti, while Keita, 36, has reached the dying ambers of his career. In addition to this, the Dutch international, Kevin Strootman has been battling with long-term injuries, meaning Roma are left with Nainggolan and Pjanic as the regular figures, with the former looking increasingly likely to join Chelsea in the summer.

Reports in Italy are claiming that roma would be willing to offer £15million for the services of the Belgium big man. Fellaini has struggled to blend in at United since joining the club three years ago and has been labelled a thug by a former official. Manchester United fans aren’t overly keen on the former Everton man, but he did improve his cause with the opening goal in last Saturday’s FA Cup final against the Toffees.
According to fellaini’s agent, Luciano D’Onofrio, Fellaini could be going out the Old Trafford door. A move to Roma would be “a possibility to consider.” Said Luciano. He also said Fellaini could have also been on a holiday in Italy.
