Manchester United sign Dutch footballer of the Year

Ajax have this evening confirmed that the £13.8m deal for Daley Blind has gone through. Whilst the clubs reached an agreement last week, there were certain conditions that were fulfilled this evening.

Tonight, Blind is in Hilversum, Holland, to collect his award for being named the best player in Holland last season. The prize is known as the “Golden Boot” in Holland has previously been won by Luis Suarez, Edwin Van der Sar, Jaap Stam, Frank Rijkaard and Johan Cruyff.

Louis van Gaal is also present at the award ceremony this evening.
