Chelsea’s calamitous start to the season has led them to becoming one of the most active clubs in the transfer market even before its official opening. Reports emanation from Portugal and England claim Chelsea are in pole position to sign Portugal and Porto impressive defensive midfielder Rúben Neves.

Neves, 18, joined the Portuguese outfit at a tender age of eight and ascended the grades of the team to the senior team. Even as a youngster, Neves has become relatively indispensable for Porto. However, Chelsea isn’t alone in the race to sign the player. The report claims Arsenal, Juventus and Chelsea are in the running to sign the versatile midfielder.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are thought to be in pole position for the player as they have sent scouts to monitor the youngster, per Independent. “Chelsea are leading the chase to sign Porto wonderkid Rúben Neves.
