Mourinho rejected Real Madrid to take over Man Utd as LVG is already packing bags, Giggs will lead the team for 1 match as interim manager

It was expected that the position of LVG as the United boss will be further questioned after the poor showing vs. Stoke. The team suffered their third successive defeat in Premier League when Stoke City triumphed over them at the Britannia Stadium. This extended the six-match losing run for Manchester United which is the worse since 1989.

After the defeat against Norwich last week, there was a rumor that LVG is already sacked. The rumor totally shocked the manager and the Manchester United dressing room. Obviously, the news was false. In the pre-match press conference, LVG slammed the media for such journalism. He said his family was traumatized to hear such news and lots of his friends called him to know whether it was true or not.

The fans expected nothing but full three points from the Stoke game. But to their utter disappointment, the team didn’t perform according to expectation and lost the game 2-0 as Bojan and Arnautovic found their names on the score sheet before the break. Jose Mourinho was sacked as the Chelsea manager just a few days back and there were rumors that he will take over as the Manchester United head manager and LVG will be sacked. Such questions became more vital after this week’s defeat.

Expectedly LVG was asked about his position at the club, and what he said was quite surprising. He said, ‘It is not always the club that has to sack me, Sometimes, I do it by myself. I am the one who wants to speak first.’ The journalists were really shocked to hear this.

Is LVG thinking about stepping down as the United manager if his men fails to get a point against Chelsea? He also said that it is not easy to lift the moral of the team after such successive defeats and still he needs to try his best to make his team win against Chelsea. Chelsea is having the worst run of form as current champions. They also failed to defeat Bournemouth at home last Saturday. The game ended a 2-2 draw.
