Jose Mourinho Louis Van Gaal Woodward

Nine-man Manchester United board split on Jose Mourinho or Louis Van Gaal

The Daily Star are reporting breaking news; Jose Mourinho has turned down a contract offer! Ok, so it might not be the contract everyone is talking about, but it is still big news. Jose Mourinho has been offered his old job at Real Madrid in place of Zinedine Zidane who hasn’t had the best of times so far.

The Portuguese manager has been out of work since leaving Chelsea for the second time earlier this year and intense speculation has been surrounding his future.

Louis Van Gaal hasn’t had the best of seasons at Manchester United although they could still win the FA Cup and finish 4th in the league. Champions League football, a result of 4th position, is a really big deal for United, because it will make their team more attractive for potential transfers.

The Manchester United board, which consists of nine man, are reportedly undecided about what to do. The fans want Jose Mourinho to take over because he is a serial winner and has won trophies all over Europe. Ed Woodward wants LVG to stay in charge because he was instrumental in installing the Dutchman.

Some of the board want Laurent Blanc to take over, given the fact the Frenchman would keep Ryan Giggs, the man they see as the long term manager, as assistant coach.
It’s all very confusing right now and there are no guarantees that any of the above options will be followed through. Everyone is on the edge of their seats, waiting to find out what will happen at the Premier Leagues most successful club.
