Officially announced: Ex-Liverpool star completes return to Anfield

Liverpool welcomes the arrival of Michael Owen, their former player. Owen also played for Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Stoke City and Manchester United as well as the England National Team, scoring 212 goals in his football career.

The celebrated former player returns to Liverpool for a new role. He will be an international ambassador of the team for which he played from 1997 to 2004. He still retains his broadcasting duties at the BT Sport. Being a Liverpool fan, he expressed his delight in representing the club at the international level.

Owen has been in love with the club that has helped him make his mark in the football world since he was only 17 years old. He says that Liverpool is a very warm football family that is respected all over the world and he hopes that he can continue making the club a huge success.

There are several rumors about Liverpool transfers and takeover, and with this new appointment, Liverpool are clearly not going to be the same again.

Most top clubs have a lot of faith in their former players. It is just the other day that Real Madrid appointed their former player Zinedine Zidane to take over from Rafa Benitez.
Barcelona’s coach Louis Enrique is also a former player of the Catalans. Off course we cannot forget Ryan Giggs, who is already serving his former club as an assistant coach. Michael Owen joins the list of former players who have come back to continue helping their former clubs.
