Renato Sanches snubs Man Utd to sign for Bayern Munich: Fans turn on Ed Woodward

Manchester United have been on the hunt for 18-year-old Portuguese sensation Renato Sanches. According to reports, Sanches was bound to play for The Red Devils next season as S.L. Benfica’s president reportedly flew to Manchester to make the final arrangements for his transfer.

The world of football was shocked when Bayern Munich announced through their Twitter account they had signed the teenage promise.

Bayern Munich agreed on a ÂŁ27 million transfer plus performance incentives and snatched Sanches away from Manchester United. Sanches was in Munich yesterday and signed a five year agreement with Bayern that will keep him in the Allianz Arena until 2021.

Sanches only made his debut in Benfica’s senior squad last October, but has showed nothing but quality football. He has impressed many big clubs as Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City were also inquiring about the Portuguese international’s services.

However, Bayern’s chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge assured “Bayern have been watching Renato Sanches for a long period… We’re pleased we’ve been able to sign him despite big-name international competition.”

Manchester’s Director of Football, Ed Woodward, has received a lot of blame on behalf of the fans. He has failed to bring in big names that yield trophies since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sanches’ snub further proves his inability to sign quality players, say the fans. Now that Sanches has snubbed The Red Devils for the Germans, we are left to see what big name will call Old Trafford home next campaign.
