Shock: Juan Mata Returning to Spain? Barcelona Keen to Bring Playmaker

Man Utd midfielder Juan Mata was linked with a surprise move to La Liga giants Barcelona on the transfer deadline day.

Daily Mail reported that the Catalan club have approached the Premier League club and the player’s representatives to explore a possibility of bringing the former Valencia man to Nou Camp.

However, Daily Mirror has reported now that the Red Devils have no intent of parting with 27-year old, and he remains part of the plans at Old Trafford.

The Spain international signed for United from Chelsea in January 2014, when David Moyes was still at the helm of the Manchester United, for a transfer fee of £37.1 million.

He started brightly for United and scored six goals and provided four assists in 15 appearances for the club.

However, he has failed to impress this season and has recently lost his place in the squad to compatriot Ander Herrera. He is without a goal or an assist in League since November for United.
