Manchester United Old Trafford

Spotted: Potential new Man Utd manager made a secret trip to Manchester

All is not well for Jose Mourinho. Just recently, there were all indications that he would replace Louis Van Gaal at Old Trafford. However, things have taken a new turn with Laurent Blanc making a secret trip to Manchester United.

According to The Sun, Laurent Blanc held secret talks with Manchester United management concerning a possible move to Old Trafford in the summer. While Manchester United still retain their interest in Jose Mourinho, they are worried that he may come with his team of technical staff from Chelsea and do away with the likes of Ryan Giggs.

Laurent Blanc is said to be willing to work with Ryan Giggs, who is being groomed for United’s next long serving head coach position. Blanc was once a Manchester united player, making 75 appearances for the club between 2001 and 2003, after which he hung his boots.

He has enjoyed a lot of success as a coach, with his team PSG winning the French 1 league and cup double last Saturday. His star-studded team however disappointed fans and the entire PSG family when they were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League by Manchester City at the quarter finals stage.
Exit from Europe’s elite competition meant that Blanc would not popular among the PSG fans and the management. Though there are reports that claim that PSG have already confirmed that Laurent Blanc will remain at the Parc De Princes, there are also other reports linking him with a move to Old Trafford. Anything is possible in football, and this is just a wait-and-see situation.
