Alianza Atletico 0-3 Sport Rosario

Despite the game being even on paper, Sport Rosario were not expected to win by a scoreline this big. Sporting Cristal loanee Rolando Carrasco opened the scoring immediately for the visitors. Janio Posito grabbed the other two in the 68th and 85th minute respectively. Pablo Lavandeira continues his fine form, grabbing all three assists in this game.

Universidad San Martin de Porres 1-0 Sporting Cristal

Despite Universidad San Martin’s loss to Cantolao last weekend, that was technically a “neutral” match as Cantolao play on the same ground. USMP’s home form has been good and it continued here. The goal came from a penalty after a Viana foul. Ramiro Caceres made no mistake and scored in the 86th minute. Sporting Cristal continued to miss their chances and drop points.

Ayacucho 2-1 Academia Cantolao

Ayacucho managed to get the double over Cantolao in the Torneo de Verano. After going behind by a Jeferson Collazos goal in the 45th minute, Jesus Arismendi scored in the 65th and Orejuela buried a penalty in the 72nd. Neither team have anything to play for at this point other than to avoid finishing bottom, but Ayacucho continue to prove that they aren’t pushovers at home.

Comerciantes 0-1 Juan Aurich

In the surprise result of the weekend, last place Juan Aurich made the long and tiring trip to Cutervo with altitude and have come away with a 1-0 win through an 84th minute Jean Pierre Archimbaud goal. While Aurich continue at the bottom, they are showing promising signs for the upcoming apertura.

Universitario 3-1 Universidad Tecnica Cajamarca

Universitario got their third win of the campaign and their second since Pedro Troglio joined as a manager. It was the Panamanian night as Alberto Quintero grabbed two and Luis Tejada grabbed the third. Quintero in the 20th and 31st minute while Tejada grabbed a last minute goal to put the match to bed after UTC grabbed an 83rd minute goal to try and get the draw. Maxi Callorda got the goal for Cajamarca.

Sport Huancayo 1-0 Real Garcilaso

Huancayo get back to winning ways after two away losses. The goal came from Jose Montiel and was assisted by Marcos Lliuya. It was a fairly straightforward match but Huancayo continue to show that the Estadio Huancayo is a fortress. With a better away form, they are challengers.

Deportivo Municipal 2-0 Alianza Lima

Alianza Lima did not get back into winning after the 3-0 loss to rivals Universitario and lost 2-0 to Municipal fairly convincingly. The goals came from in-form Fredy Alvarez who scored from a free kick in the 39th minute and Alvaro Medrano assisting Diego Mayora in the 70th minute. Alianza will be thankful that UTC lost but will also be regretting the opportunity to close the gap.
