Tottenham Close To Transfer Of £26m Star, £16m DM Wants Arsenal Move & More

Tottenham Hotspurs are reportedly close to tying up a deal to bring Sevilla’s Colombian hotshot, Carlos Bacca to White Hart Lane with Roberto Soldado swapping the Lilywhites for the Los Rojiblancos. Since his £26m move from Valencia to Tottenham Hotspurs in August 2013, he has flattered to deceive as the club’s number nine, enduring long goal droughts and it seems the North London club’s patience has finally worn off completely. Perhaps a move back to a league where he once thrived may do his career a world of good considering that something similar happened to Diego Forlan during his spell at Manchester United when he went virtually an entire season without scoring before returning to Spain where he became a hit, leading Athletico Madrid to multiple domestic and continental success. In a club-related news, Midfielder Paulinho seems to be nearing the exit door. The £17m acquisition from Corinthians in Brazil has never remained the same player after Brazil’s ignominious exit from the World Cup and the White Hart Lane hierarchy are looking to offload the Midfielder to Italian giants Juventus on a permanent deal.

Lyon has insisted that their striker, Alexandre Lacazette is not for sale. Although Lacazette,21, who is Ligue 1’s top scorer, has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool who are keen to secure the signature of the Frenchman who is valued at £15m, his club are adamant that they are not willing to part company just yet with their prized jewel and have issued a hands-off warning to potential suitors.

In other Arsenal transfer news, Arsenal are interested in signing on Newcastle star, Moussa Sissokho in a deal worth £16m. The Senegalese-born Frenchman had during the week expressed his happiness at being linked to the Gunners stating that ‘Arsenal are a club in my heart’.

With the player keen to link up with Arsenal, the feeling seems to be mutual as Arsenal Boss, Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of creative midfield players. The Gunners Boss who always relishes the opportunity to squeeze in one more creative midfielder into his team would jump at a chance to sign the player.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has apparently decided to change his mind with respect to defender Winston Reid. Reid, 24, who was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this January has decided to stay until the rest of the season by which time he would have properly assessed his options.

Arsenal have been victims of their manager’s oversight in the transfer market as his stubborn refusal to sign an extra defender while allowing Thomas Vermaelen, Carl Jenkins and Bacary Sagna to leave the club has seen the Gunners suffer the loss of vital points in their pursuit of a first Premier League Title since 2004 and Reid was initially seen as an able back-up to first choice defensive pairing of Per Mertasacker and Laurent Koscielny.
