Penalty?? by rrmisas
Liverpool will feel robbed today following their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United, despite being the better team for most of the game. Even after going down to ten men following Jonjo Shelvey’s challenge on Jonny Evans, when it could be argued the United man also could have received his marching orders, Liverpool still managed to dictate the game fairly well.
Rafael da Silva equalised for United five minutes after Steven Gerrard took the lead for Liverpool. Not long afterwards, with the scoreline still 1-1, Suarez went down in the box under a challenge from Evans. His theatrical fall convinced the referee that he dived whilst replays suggest he might have a case…

Cheat
why would liverpool fans feel bad about not getting the pen i was happy he didnt get a yellow card for it like last week, suarez got his legs kicked just out side the box the ref waved play on.fergie said suarez dives from that day on players can take kicks at him anywhere and get away with it.
WSe were ROBBED!! I am slowly withdrawing from watching English footie because of bad officiating. Looks like all they want is Man U to win. There was no red card for Jonjo and there was no penalt for Valencia. Those two decisions were major. There were other decisions such as the Van Persie tackle which I also thought was a bad one! Evra on Sterling was also bad though he gave a free kick for it. Refs must be held accountable and be questioned to explain their decisions in a game. Why are they sacred cows! If not football should introduce technology and the captain should have three chances to challenge decisions which should be reviewed during the match. Surely it doesnt take long. Thats the only way officials can start waking up and be accountable for thier decisions. Please somebody do something about this or else the game is dying, for me at least and many others out there who feel robbed by refs.
haha how can you possibly say the red card and penalty weren’t warranted? as soon as I read that, your post became a joke. thanks for the laugh
Could have got one but he tried to cheat the ref to many times so you can’t blame the ref you can only blame Suarez for not getting it and I’m glad the ref had the balls not to give it need to get the cheats outta football the fa should be able to punish the cheater after the game with a two match ban and fine to the club
Its nice that people who haven’t got a clue what they are talking about get to air there misguided opinions somewhere. And if the FA were able to punish players retrospectively then United would be without a fair few of there cheating players. Oh and by the way why don’t you just drop the “NO” that would be much more appropriate.
Yeah it’s always good to get a one sided view it’s clear that your a liverpool fan no matter what they do not cheat llf well all I can say is if that clown suarez had of stopped divin/cheatin Liverpool could of got a draw which would of been fair and to say that there was UTD players divin well it’s clear that u never watched the same game as me open your eyes Suarez is a cheat and if you don’t think well you haven’t got a clue about football
Probably not robbed exactly, Liverpool’s own fault that they can’t win games they dominate. But, Evans was probably as guilty as Shelvey of an over zealous challenge and the Suarez incident is clearly a pen but again it’s his own fault for going over too theatrically.
UTD DIDNT DESERVE A PENALTY VALENCIA FELL OVER EVANS MORE GULITY THAN SHELVY OF DANGEROUS PLAY
Yeah when Glen johnson threw him self into the back of him using his hands to push him aswell it’s was a defo a pen and for Evans yeah I kinda agree 50/50 ball yellow at most unlucky
YES IT’S A PENALTY . LOOK AT THE RIGHT KNEE OF EVANS AS IT FLEXES JUST AFTER HIS BOOT MAKES CONTACT WITH THE RIGHT BOOT OF SUAREZ.
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR SUAREZ TO CHOOSE ANOTHER PATH THAN THE ONE HE WENT ON, SINCE HIS RIGHT FOOT IS ANCHORED AND TO PROGRESS FURTHER HE HAS NO CHOICE OTHER THAN TO GET HIS LEFT FOOT AHEAD.
THE LEFT KNEE OF MR EVANS , THE ‘VICTIM’ OF JONJO, FLEXES LEADING HIS RIGHT THIGH TO OBSTRUCT THE LEFT FOOT AND PROGRESSION OF SUAREZ.
IF IT’S NOT A PENALTY WHAT IS IT THEN!!!!!!
IMPARTIAL
JUST A CORRECTION TO THE ABOVE INSTEAD OF ‘LEFT KNEE OF MR EVANS…’ ON LINE 6, PLEASE READ’ RIGHT KNEE OF MR EVANS…’
IS IT POSSIBLE FOR FA TO INVESTIGATE THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF
(I) THE RED CARD AWARDED TO SHELVEY
(II)THE PENALTY REFUSED TO SUAREZ
(III) THE PENALTY AWARDED TO VALENCIA.
THINGS CAN NOT GO ON WITH SO MANY UNCLEAR DESCISIONS IN SUCH AN IMPORTANT AND SYMBOLIC MATCH.
WE EXPECT FERGIE TO BE FAIR. A TURNING POINT IN A SEASON IS A MATCH PLAYED IN FAIRNESS.
AS FAR AS I CAN REMEMBER, THERE HAS BEEN ONE MATCH OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE WHICH HAS REPLAYED IN THE NAME OF FAIRNESS.
