Arsenal Target Signs Five Years Contract

Lyon sensational striker Nabil Fekir has committed his future to the club by signing a 5 year extension. The 22 year old who has been a revelation for Lyon this season scored 13 goals and assisted 7 to keep Lyon in contention with PSG. Lyon eventually finished in 2nd place, and all this can be in part attributed to Nabil’s contribution.

Despite signing this new contract though, Nabil Fekir remains a target for Arsenal and other high profile clubs. And there is all likelihood the Lyon man might be plying his trade in the new season at Arsenal. The London club are in need of a striker to supplement Olivier Giroud who came under harsh criticism toward the tail end of the season. The Gunners who were forced to rely on Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott will be in the market and given Arsene Wenger’s affinity toward the Ligue 1, there is a high probability of Arsenal making a bid for Nabil.

Though Lyon will loathe to lose one of their rising stars, Arsenal will in all likelihood get to sign Nabil if they try hard enough. This is because of the attraction of playing for a big team in the Premier league will be too great for a player like Nabil to turn down. The Frenchman will look to follow in the footsteps of Thierry Henry who turned out for the gunners and is a club legend. Known for their development of players, some of which are  Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, and most recently Francis Coquelin, Nabil will be doing his career a solid with a move to Arsenal. His development at Arsenal will surely see him blossom as a more matured and rounded player and exposure to the rigours of the premier league will surely do his confidence wonders.

With the financial power of premier league teams, there is no stopping a team like Arsenal once they are determined to get their man. As is evident in this current transfer window and previous ones, premier league clubs have used their financial strength in the market to outmuscle clubs in Europe. Of course they are not guaranteed a player who Barcelona or Real Madrid are interested in, however premier league clubs can outbid any club in terms of finances. Therefore there is all likelihood that Nabil will be headed to Arsenal this summer, as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen the team and build up on last season.
