£1350,000-A-Week World Cup Winner Set To Join Manchester United

Manchester United are nearing a £7.5million deal for Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger, writes Sunday People reporter. Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal is confident he can lure his former player away from the Allianz Arena, as the midfielder is in his final year of his contract with Bayern Munich.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is a German footballer who plays as a midfielder for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and the Germany national team, serving as captain. He is a right-footed player who usually plays as central midfielder.

Schweinsteiger signed with Bayern Munich as a youth team player on 1 July 1998 and rose through the club’s youth sides. During this time he has raked up over 500 games for both the senior and youth sides of the Bavarian side, returning a total of 67goals.

Without mincing words, this is the kind and class of player Manchester United really needs right now. He has experience, ability, skill, and most especially, the asking price is not on the high side. The only negative might be about the age aspect and perhaps the issue of adaptation to the Premier league.

However, owing to the fact that this is a player that has played at the highest levels of football, won major honours internationally and domestically, (both individual and team), I do not see him struggling to adapt to the English league, which leaves us with the age issue; which can be excused due to the urgent need of world class midfielders that is bedeviling United currently.
