4-2-3-1 Chelsea Lineup in FA Cup: Hiddink Will Test New Signings
Chelsea will host Scunthorpe United, League One club, in the 3rd round of FA Cup at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Here’s our predicted line-up (4-2-3-1).
Goalkeeper:
Asmir Begovic has been kept out of the starting eleven since Thibaut Courtois’ return from the injury. Expect the Bosnian to start in the game.
Defence:
Summer signing Baba Rahman will start in the left-back position while club-veteran Branislav Ivanovic will start on the opposite side of the back four. Kurt Zouma is favourite to start in the centre of defence and summer signing Papy Djilobodji might get his first start of the Blues and start alongside Zouma.
Midfield:
Ramires is likely to start at the base of midfield. He is yet to start a game under Hiddink and this will be his opportunity to impress the Dutchman. Talented youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be partnering the Brazilian in the midfield. Cesc Fabregas might be asked to move ahead and play ahead in the number ten position ahead of Oscar in this game.
Forward:
The 19-year old Brazilian Kenedy, who arrived in the summer, is likely to get a start as a wide forward. Former Barcelona star Pedro is expected to start on the opposite flank. Guus Hiddink is without the services of Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao and will be forced to start the first-choice frontman Diego Costa in the game. He might also decide to give an opportunity to Patrick Bamford, who has returned from his loan spell at Crystal Palace, also.
Predicted XI: Begovic; Baba, Zouma, Djilobodji, Ivanovic; Loftus-Cheek, Ramires; Fabregas, Kenedy, Pedro; Costa.
