1st Player to Depart: Man Utd Key Midfielder Set to Leave the Club if Board Appoints Mourinho

Man Utd’s experienced midfielder Michael Carrick might depart from Old Trafford in the summer. The 34-year old is in the last year of his current deal with United, and the club are yet to offer him a new deal.

The Times report that Newcastle United are interested in signing him for free in the summer. A number of other Premier League clubs could also be interested in the summer 2016.

The report suggests that Carrick is not pushing for a new deal at the moment and is waiting to see how the managerial situation plays out over the summer.

It is still unclear whether Louis Van Gaal will be in charge of the club for the next season. Latest reports suggest Carrick is not willing to stay in the club shall club board appoint Jose Mourinho in the summer.

Fan favourite, Michael Carrick, prefers Ryan Giggs to manage the team and patiently waits until the situation is solved at Old Trafford.
