1st Summer Signing? Antonio Conte to lure Juventus Defender to Chelsea
Chelsea departed with Jose Mourinho in December and even though they have appointed Guus Hiddink as their interim manager, they do not intend to making him permanent.
Antonio Conte, seems to be the most likely person to take up the managerial position and he has started preparing a list a possible transfers for Chelsea.
Juventus defender, Leonardo Bonucci, is one the potential players Conte would want to sign if he becomes Chelsea manager.
According to Telegraph, Conte is keen on reuniting with the defender at Stamford Bridge. The 28-year-old has previously played under Conte during his time at Juventus and has also represented Italy as a Captain under him.
Guus Hiddink has managed to bring Chelsea to the 11th position in the Premier League. They travelled to St. Mary’s Stadium yesterday to face Southampton, where they won 2-1 with goals from Cesc Fabregas and Branislav Ivanovic.
They currently have 36 points, which means they will be missing out on Top Four and hence Champions League football next season. Their only chance to be part of the competition next season is to win the Champions League this season.
Blues faced Paris Saint-Germain in their 1st leg of Round of 16 last week in the Champions League which they lost 2-1.
