21 Goals 4 Assists Chelsea Striker Target Set To Join Manchester United For £40m

Manchester United has made an official bid for the Tottenham’s star strike Harry Kane, as reported by the Daily Star. United were strongly linked with Spurs hot shot Kane about a month ago with Louis Van Gaal known to be so keen on acquiring a world class striker, Spanish outlet Marca also reported that United made an official bid to sign the forward.

The 22 year old is valued at around £40 million but Spurs turned down the approach for the striker and it is not clear whether United will return with an improved offer. Sky Sport also reported that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has completely ruled out any possibility of Kane exiting the club, as they are keen to hang onto the England International after his exploits last season.

Louis van Gaal will be keen to add a new centre forward to his ranks before the window closes, as he only has three recognized centre forwards available to him in Wayne Rooney, Javier |Hernandez and James Wilson.

Van Gaal even publicly told the Sun last week of his admiration for the youngster. The Dutchman said: “I have seen, of course, many games where he has shown his qualities. “I think he is a great player, a great talent.”

Last season, kane scored 31 goals in all competitions, and finished as the premier league’s highest scoring Englishman, 21goals with only Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero scoring more goals than him, 26.

Kane had a 58% shot accuracy in the Premier league and had a 25.9% conversion rate for Spurs last season. He will likely come up against United in the league’s opening game of the season this weekend (Saturday).
