211 Goals In 334 App Striker Could Join Arsenal But Totthenham Could Play Spoiler

The Dutchman whose contract is about to expire at the end of the season is keen on a move to the premier league and he certainly won’t be short of potential suitors. His buyout clause is said to be €3 million pound which is certainly a bargain fee for most premier league clubs who can afford to sign him. And he is a proven goal scorer in the bundesliga, turning out for Schalke. Schalke are keen to offer him a new contract but he seems to have made up his mind about moving to the premier league, and now seems a good opportunity. According to reports, the Dutchman may be off to Tottenham or Arsenal.

Huntelaar has amassed quite a reputation over the cause of his career, which has seen him playing up for PSV, De Graafschap, AGOVV, APeldorn, Heerenveen, Ajax; all in the Dutch league. Then he signed for Real Madrid. His stay there was however short-lived and he was soon shipped off to AC Milan, where he then moved to Schalke. It might not seem an illustrious career, and soon he will have to retire, and this is probably why he is favoring a move to the premier league, to take one last shot at glory. His stats suggest a prolific goal scorer who has in over 334 appearances for all clubs scored and scored 211 goals, averaging a goal every 94 minutes.

These are pretty impressive stats and premier league clubs must look to getting him. Arsenal could certainly do with a signing like him, as Giroud and Sanogo are both out injured, forcing Wenger to rely on Welbeck and Sanchez for goals. This might prove costly for Arsenal presently, as their first team members are depleted due to injuries, with Ozil, Koscieny, Ramsey etc out. Signing Huntelaar will ensure the goals don’t dry up, so that Arsenal can keep up in the race for the league title.

Liverpool are also another club who should get a look in at Huntelaar. After losing their main strike force to Barcelona in the summer, their replacement signings have not been producing the fireworks. Both Balotelli and Lambert are finding it difficult to hit the goals in and this has seriously hampered Liverpool’s progress in both the premier league and champion’s league. Surely, they can still afford to spare €3 million pound from the largesse received from the sale of Suarez. Rodgers should really consider signing Huntelaar.

Another club that should have Huntelaar in their sights should be tottenham. With their current strike force, I do not see them going far in the league. Soldado has been a disappointment since signing for the club last season and has been a disaster in front of goal, he certainly seem not to be the same man who was signed from Valencia. Adebayor of course is as usual at best, phenomenal once in a blue moon. Relying on these two, and the youngster Kane, won’t take Totteham far this season, and Huntelaar is probably the solution to their resurgence. Let’s hope Pochettino decides to sign him.
